Barre at home: a chair is all you need
No studio, no barre? Your kitchen chair is a perfect partner for a ballet-inspired workout.
Barre works small muscle groups with high repetition and tiny ranges of motion — pulses. That is why it burns.
Set-up
A sturdy chair, a mat, optionally light dumbbells or water bottles.
Three moves to try
- Plié pulses: heels together, toes out, lower and pulse.
- Arabesque lifts: hold the chair, lift the leg back, keep the hips square.
- Relevé holds: rise on the toes and hold, then pulse.
The Barre Sculpt 30 video puts it all together.
